One of Ed's dreams came true when the first School of Humanities and Science was held at Heidebeek April-June 2003. We had 9 students with 7 nationalities: Dutch, Danish, Egyptian, Indian, German, Korean, and American. Ed and Philip were school staff, Terry was administrative staff - with only 3 of us we were kept very busy! Each week covered a different topic: Biblical Worldview, Europe's Past & Future, History of Western Thought, International Relations, Reconciliation, Apologetics, Visual Arts, Music, Islamic Worldview, and 4 weeks of Science - Origins & Contemporary issues, Environmental Geology, Bioethics, Computer and Missions. The most interactive subject was a Visual Arts taught workshop style by Peter & Jennifer Wortel. We also had several field trips: to the Polder Museum, the Kruller-Muller Art Museum, sightseeing in Hattem, etc. It was challenging for students and staff alike, but very rewarding for all.
