Featured Artist : Steve Jacobs
Last week in Art Bible Club After moving out of Naledi to a new location in Gaborone, it has been rather interesting working with a new group of students. Their excitement for art and the bible has been encouraging. Last week I was browsing through the internet thinking of ways to best suit the topic of drawing through objects. For instance drawing an image of something through a fish bowl. And although there were plenty of ideas - one artist stood out to me. So I used his illustrations in my art class and emailed him to let him know. This was his amazing response to his work... Greetings Jillian, Wow. I cannot express how gratifying and proud I am to know that my art has served such a meaningful and constructive purpose! I greatly admire you for your efforts. Your Art Club sounds wonderful! I hold a strong belief that creativity is a gateway to self-awareness, happiness, and confidence. It is like magic, making things appear that once were not there! I am very honored, humbled, and pleased to know that you would choose my art work as an example for your students. These are students of such purpose, enthusiasm and ambition, I know. To be completely honest, your email brought tears to my eyes... tears of joy and happiness! I thank you very much for featuring me as your Artist of The Week and for considering me for Artist of the Month on your web site, which is remarkably beautiful. Please feel free to use any of my artwork at your club and please send my best to your students. Also, please know that this truly brings warmth to my heart and being. I thank you over and over again for your kind words about my artwork and simply for who you are. Keep up the great work Jillian. Kindest regards, Steve Jacob You can visit his full work at the address below. It is excellent.
