New opportunities in USA

INDIANA,  USA

In 2002 the Johnson County Clerk's office recorded 939 marriage license filings and 887 divorce filings.  Due to these and other overwhelming statistics, the Marriage Investors program was created in June 2003 by the United Way of Johnson County's Family Initiative Team.  It involves pastors from many churches, social workers, judicial personnel, and other interested persons.  They are looking for materials and resources to transform these sad statistics into hope for many families.  We have been invited to participate, and of course, we are offering the REAPP workshops as a light in the darkness.  Please pray for Marriage Investors and for us as we go with Dewey and Kay Findley, co-workers here, for the Lord's direction and anointing.

ATLANTA, GEORGIA

A dear friend, Eduardo Stevens, whom, with his wife, we trained in Chile, called to say that he is now studying at Emory University.  He also wrote, "Here I am collaborating with the hispanic churches of the United Methodist Church.  Many marriages are formed by the need not to be alone in a new land where people feel lonely.  Unfortunately, this is not a good basis for forming a marriage.  It is a situation that causes me to think a lot.  Your help and orientation would be very important.  Can you come and help us?"  Please pray for the hispanic people and churches in the USA, that we might serve them.  Although it has been quite a few years since we worked in Chile, Eduardo reports that his parents, Roberto and Mabel Stevens (coordinators of APEMAL -- our name in Spanish -- in Chile) and others continue to be active in the presentation of the workshops.  Congratulations, Chileans!

TYLER, TEXAS  --  MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA

Ricardo and Gldys Molina of Tyler, Texas, invested a part of daughters'Manuela and Valeria's school vacation ministering in Missouri, Georgia, and Florida.  They also spent one week in Indiana with Keith and Marilynn editing the newest edition of the four books in Spanish.  Gladys writes, "We had an exciting week working with the Hamiltons.  The books are now ready for distribution and thus continue to advance the Kingdom of God among families."  An instructor couple from Cali, Colombia, and part of a team of 4 who created the workshop for singles, the Molinas are eager to share the workshops with Hispanic groups.  Their email is: molinas1@juno.com.  In March the Hamiltons co-led a workshop for singles with Juan and Martha Lopez, another outstanding instructor couple from Bogota, Colombia, now living in Minneapolis and working on staff of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church.  Their email is: JandMLopez@aol.com  Call upon these two couples for Hispanic work.  We highly recommend them!
