Drs. David & Vera Mace  

Vera Mace: 1902-2008

After 106 and a half years of life and ministry on Planet Earth, Dr. Vera Mace just "went home to Jesus" and to her beloved David who had preceded her in death in 1991.  Although we share in the joyous celebration of her life and remarkable legacy, we are also greatly saddened at the world's loss.    The Maces were spiritual giants.  They were THE pioneers in the field of Marriage Enrichment, God's instruments to transform our understanding of marriage and family on every continent.  Today, at a time when so much emphasis is placed on "sex", David and Vera rightly placed the emphasis on the higher value of "intimacy" in marrige, which they defined as "To be fully known and deeply loved".  And their work on the creative use of conflict has brought light and peace to ours and to many a home as we have practiced the preventive principles, and sought to find that equilibrium between individuality and unity in our relationship.  We loved Vera as a model and dear friend.  We thank God that she wrote the Foreword to our four REAPP and APEMAL books.  She always encouraged us as we shared her heart and their ministry.  It is for all of us who have been deeply touched by the lives and vision of David and Vera to go forward, giving our best to strengthen marriages and families around the world.

El 22 de julio la amada Dr. Vera Mace partio para estar en el hogar celestial junto a Jesus y a su amado esposo David.  Despues de 106 Anos de vida y casi la midtad de ellos ejerciendo su ministerio en la planeta Tierra.  Aunque celebramos lo que fue su vida y el gran legado que nos dejo, a la vez sentimos profunda tristeza por la gran perdida.  Los Maces fueron gigantes espirituales.  Ellos fueron los pioneros en el campo del enriquecimiento matrimonial y fueron los instrumentos de Dios para la transformacion de nuestro entendimiento en cuanto a matrimonios y familias en todos los continentes.  Hoy en dia cuando se hace tanto enfasis en el "sexo", Vera y David acertaron al hacer enfasis en el gran valor de la "intimidad" en el matrimonio, la cual ellos definieron como el "ser totalmente conocido y profundamente amado".  Su trabajo sobre el uso creativeo del conflicto nos trajo nueva luz y paz a nosotros y a muchos matrimonios a medida que preacticamos los principios preventivos y procuramos mantener el equilibrio entre la individualidad y la unidad en nuestras relaciones.  Nosotros amamos a Vera como una amigo y como un modelo a seguir y damos gracias a Dios porque ella fue la que escribio el prologo de nuestros libros de APEMAL y REAPP los cuales han sido traducidos en muchos idiomas. A todos nosotros que hemos sido tocados por la vision, la vida y obra de David y Vera nos toca seguir adelante dando nuestro mejor para seguir fortaleciendo los matrimonios y familias de todo el mundo.
