South Africa Outeach, July & August 2004
The lecture phase of the Foundations in Community Development ended on June 18. A few of the students are in South Africa for 2 months. They are going to work with YWAM Worcester with their community development ministries. We received this email from Jackie who is leading the outreach. They arrived in South Africa on Sunday July 4, 2004 and since it is in the Southern Hemisphere they have gone from summer to winter in an instance. She writes: July 5, 2004 " We are very cold here, but we have enough blankets at night to be able to handle it. We had very safe travels and God was really with us. We have already been taught how to drive on the wrong side of the road. Today I drive into town and Wednesday to drive into Capetown with some help. Please pray that I don't drive in the ditch or something like that. We will be meeting some people who have HIV/Aids ministry as well as a feeding program for children and some development projects to help people learn skills such as carpentry and sewing"
Debbie, Arnold and Mia our youngest daughter plan to join the team in August as Jackie needs to come back to the USA to renew her visa. We still need another $3100 for our plane tickets. Pray for us for the full amount to be released. Last updated July 13, 2004
We are so thankful that all the finances came in for this trip. God is so faithful. The team had a great outreach. updated November 3, 2004
