PRAYING FOR MISSIONARIES IN TRAINING

  • Every 3 months between 150 & 300 students arrive here for training. Up to 40% are Asians preparing to go back to their nations.  As a leader of Outreach Ministries for our YWAM University of the Nations (UofN) Kona campus my role includes 3 categories:
  • 1) Equip new pioneer missionaries for Asia/Pacific and beyond - How?
  •     a. Regular workshops for our mission leaders and staff
  • 2) Lead out in Strategic Mission Initiatives
  •     a. Lead teams & coordinate new mission initiatives into strategic nations where new ministries are being pioneered.
  • 3) Give oversight to our pioneer teams on the field
  •     a. Advise, encourage, visit and pray for our long-term teams sent

THEIVES TURN TO JESUS ON REMOTE PACIFIC ISLANDS

120

What a joy it was for JoAnn & I along our son Caleb to evangelize on remote Pacific Islands this summer. One particular story was that of the 'thieves' - a gang of boys that hung out in the park where we would often go to meet youth and share Jesus. I wasn't until the last days before our departure that they came and asked us for prayer and gave their lives to Christ. Pray for Jovan (in red) and the others that they grow strong in the Lord.

OUR MISSION

Helping equip and place the next generation of pioneer missionarie into Asia / Pacific region.

Korean mission students

Eager to get going on their missions assignment in Thailand, here I'm praying with some of our Korean students.  Theyll be focusing on ministry to youth and children...God has blessed us with about 84 Koreans (including children, who will also be involved in ministry)   What a joy to help equip Asians to reach Asians for Jesus!!

FIJI: Wide Open Doors to 108 Inhabited Islands

Fiji: Wide Open Doors to 108 Inhabited Islands

God is doing amazing things among the 800,000 people on 108 Fiji Islands.

I’m grateful for Him allowing us the privilege of joining Him and His purposes for the dear peoples of Fiji, a multi-ethnic nation with 50% Melanesian and less than 45% Indian and mainly Hindu.  Let me share briefly the reasons for this mission trip:

  1. As a leader of Outreach Ministries from YWAM Kona I went to Fiji to see if doors might be open

-          After meeting with the Association of Christian Churches of Fiji (ACCF) doors are wide open

-          Kona teams will partner with Fiji churches in evangelizing/discipleshiping throughout the 108 islands.

-          Our teams will begin arriving in a few months and will continue throughout next year

-          Would you like to come yourself or bring a church team? Let me know…

  1. I went to meet with the leaders of YWAM Impact World Tours (IWT), a Youth Evangelism Campaign

-          IWT plans Youth Evangelism using Xtreme Sports and youth preaching in 16 cities of Fiji next year

-          The Churches of Fiji welcomed plans for the Youth Campaigns with much enthusiasm and support

-          Our Kona Teams will link with IWT in preparation and during the 16 city Campaign tour

Chief Hosea: A Chief among God’s people  -  A Training Center to Train Pacific Islander Missionaries

  1. I went with another leader of YWAM University of the Nations Kona to pray about the possibility of a University of the Nations - Fiji

-          Chief Hosea a Chief among Provincial Chiefs and a man of God came to Kona last November to officially invite us to his nation for God purposes – we accepted and made a commitment.

-          Chief Hosea has had a dream sense 1973 to see a Prayer Center established on a small mountain that he owns. After seeing our Training Center here in Kona his dream expanded to include a YWAM campus on the land around the mountain on 50 acres. He wants to give us the land!

-          He took us to the land where we all prayed together and the Lord impressed upon me verses from

Micah 4:1-2: In the last days the Lord’s temple will be established as chief among mountains…peoples will steam to it. Many nations will say, “Come let us go up to the mountain of the Lord… He will teach us His ways, so that we will walk in His paths.”

-          We all were greatly encouraged by the Lord and continue to seek Him about this amazing Open Door. Having a Training Center to disciple leaders in Fiji is one way we in Kona could fulfill our commitment to the governmental, educational, and church leaders of Fiji to partner with them to see transformation in their nation.

Isn’t God awesome? His hand in upon this nation of dear people He loves so. Thank you for your prayers and partnering with JoAnn & I. We will keep you updated in the months to come about Fiji.  If you or your church would like to join us in Fiji on a missions trip please let me know.
