The Campus Project - Help!
Dear Friends,
Help!!! Every ministry has its challenges with growth. Finding the capital to buy homes, ministry sites, etc is always hard. However, there are certain ministries that have to face additional challenges to grow and prosper.
The latter is the case with us. Part of being a Christian School in Bogotá is having to meet certain requirements to continue. The problem is that those rules are continually changed by the government.
It’s a challenge; even though we understand that the authorities are trying to improve education and safety standards. However, while they provide funding for public schools to make upgrades, they do not give any aid to private schools; even though 43% of education in Colombia is private and STILL there are hundreds of thousands of children who have nowhere to study.

Our school is located in rented houses in a residential area. Now the government has declared that High Schools can no longer operate in these areas. In addition they are requiring new levels of earthquake resistant construction and more space per student in the classroom.
Add this to our already full capacity and we have arrived at the point where we cannot continue in our present facilities.
For the last 1½ years we have been working hard to raise the funds to buy land and build. We have raised over $30,000 US, but it is a fraction of what we need. We need help.
This time we are attaching a pledge form to our newsletter. Would you pray about giving a one time or monthly gift to the Campus Project?
Your investment will help us continue to make an impact in Colombia and through the many missionaries we have raised up, the world.
During the 3 ½ years that we have had the privilege to be part of Light ot the Nations, we have experienced one of the greatest times of growth in our lives.

From the beginning we were impacted by the evidence of the strong formation in character that is imparted to the children and youth of this community. We arrived with the desire to serve God through our instruction in English, Biology and Chemistry; regardless it has been us who have received the most beautiful life lessons.
It is a privilege to be in this place and see many of these young people being transformed, growing in passion to take God’s word to others and seeing many of them leave for missionary training in other countries.
We are also conscious of the struggles that are involved in moving forward a project of this magnitude. We know that from this place young people will go out to transform nations. We already have former students serving in missions in several countries. It is for this reason that we believe God will raise up the school and touch hearts to support its vision.
We believe so much in what God is doing in this place and in its goals, that it is our fervent desire to see our soon to be born child be educated in the Kingdom principles that are lived in Light to the Nations.

My name is Gladys Helena and I am about to celebrate 21 happy years with my husband Guillermo. I started at the school half way through 1988. During these years I have served in different areas such as reception, as secretary, in accounting and now as Director of Grade 11 and School Chaplin.

These years have been a great blessing. My daughters were very young when they started school. Cristal learned to walk in the halls and now studies medicine. I see daily how God sustains her and builds her up.
Nataly Andrea started studying music in university, but God reminded her about her missionary call through a sermon by her father. She listened to God’s voice and renounced her diploma to follow her dream of sharing the Gospel though music. She is preparing to enter a Christian School of Music in Argentina (Canzion).
My youngest daughter, Jackelin is in grade 10 and like her sisters, was educated in Christian principles and values at home and in school. Now, she is clear in her call to be an influence in the politics of our nation. Because of this she is praying to fulfill her dream of studying Political Science and Justice in 2009.
For all of the above, I give infinite thanks to God, but I am also thankful to be able to see Him moving in each student daily. To see them grow in God’s knowledge and grace, see them place themselves in the breach and see God answer in signs and miracles is marvellous.
