Update
Regarding the "SPECIAL PRAYER REQUEST FOR A FRIEND'S SICK CHILD"

In June, I had asked for prayer for  Mrs. W, who is in my Japanese class, and for her baby boy H., who was born prematurely (at 7 months).  In July I reported that Little H. was doing much better, thanks to all your prayers! 

Mrs. W sent out another report on Sept. 7 that H. was still growing and improving, but still in the hospital. It was the very next day that little H.'s heart stopped suddenly and unexpectedly, and he passed away! It was a shock to everyone, including hospital staff!

It is the custom here when someone passes away that his body is brought back to his home for a day or two. The relatives will keep vigil with the body until it is time for the funeral and the cremation which follows. I went with the other ladies from our Japanese class to see Mrs. W and her husband at their home. They were devasted, as might be expected. However, they asked me to pray for them, and seemed comforted somehow when I did, even though they are not believers in Jesus.

Please continue to pray for Mrs. W and her husband. Pray that this tragic situation will cause them to seek God and that they would receive His comfort.  Also, please pray that God would bless them with another child in the near future.

Please pray for the next phase of our church's growth:

w          for a practical and effective plan to apply the teaching on spiritual gifts

w          for all the spiritual gifts to be present and fully operational in our church

w          for people to be enthusiastic about finding their gifts and serving

w          for wisdom in delegating responsibilities / ministry in the church

w          for God to raise up people, or bring people, with the maturity to be leaders and elders

w          wisdom and guidance to structure our church discipleship in the most effective way
