A family in the making...  

 
The adventure began for us in 1982 when a young single gal named Molly Ellen MacLean from Bellingham, WA and a young single guy named Steven D. Pontius from Elkhart, IN both left for Discipleship Training School in Tyler, Texas. Neither of us were going for very long.
The training time was life changing and life directing. We both attended the subsequent School of Evangelism and continued on staff with the same training program. We didn't really know each other at all but as we were getting closer to God we were getting closer to each other.
On the first outreach we did as staff, we co-led a drama team to Mexico and that's when our relationship became a deep friendship. With no romantic feelings for another year, we finally became engaged right before leading an outreach team back to Mexico in the winter of 1985. As soon as we returned we became married on March 2, 1985.
After 22 years of marriage and 25 years of service with YWAM, I guess we are called to long term service. We now have 5 children: Tyler, Landon, Dillon, Reilly and Michaela. Reilly being the last addition adopted from China in August of 2002.
We have ministered in over 13 nations and have a special burden to get individuals connected to the family of God and restored in there understanding of God's heart toward them.
Teaching on the Family Heart of God is Steve's passion. We minister in different ways to couples and we are excited to see our children grow in their ministry gifting.
Please pray for our family. We desire to be a force in battling the Devil's plan to destroy the family. We believe God has blessed us with an awesome family to be the source of revelation that leads many to loving relationship with God.
