FMI Columbia  
 
This year, we are preparing to receive teams in Education, Social Work, Medicine and Pioneering Campus Ministry.

The following is a basic synopsis of FMI Colombia this year:

Education - Participants will be serving "Luz y Verdad" primary school colaborating with local teachers in three areas:

1) Engaging with children in daily teaching and various extra curricular activities.

2) Mentoring parents to support their children in after-school activities.

3) Researching the needs of children in the school district and creating creative curriculums fitting for the local children.

Medicine - Participants will be serving in the Island of Tierra Bomba in the following ways:

1) Daily treatment of patients in local clinic.

2) Occasional visits to other locations with "mobile clinic"

3) Researching common diseases of the communities and presenting creative ways to educate locals in prevention and treatment.

Social Work - Participants will be serving in the district of "Boca Grande" where most "Children at Risk (Street Kids)" live in following ways:

1) Daily contact with the "children at risk" by providing food, rest and counseling.

2) Weekly participation on discipleship of them.

3) Researching the common causes of the social phenomenon and interacting with various government officials on the issues.

Campus Ministry - Participants will be serving in most universities in Cartagena where campus ministry is developing in following ways:

1) Creative contact evangelism - Engaging university students in daily basis by chatting, practicing English, and other creative contacts in order to share the message.

2) Weekly discipleship - Mentoring university students in "Cell Group" setting in discipleship. This includes occasional participation with students in "Integrating your majors in practical fields of services"

3) Monthly mass gatherings - Moderating and leading monthly university student gatherings in creative ways.
