W E L C O M E
Missionary Stew

Dusk is settling in the deepest heart of the jungle. The orange sunset has left its' afterglow on the horizon. Mosquitoes dot the air. The buzz of human voices can be heard. Native mothers nurse their babies; little children play simple games. The men huddle around the campfire. Over the fire hangs a black cauldron. The men stoke the fire and chant. Steam rises from the vat . . . and if you look closely, you can dimly make out a shape. What is it — A chicken in every pot? No, missionary stew!

Many of us have somewhat the same impressions of being a missionary that evil and danger lurk around every spiritual corner. It is difficult to go & make disciples. But, regardless of what we think, or the trials and temptations we see with the natural eye, God promises to "surely give the nations as our inheritance and the very ends of the earth as our possession" (Psalm 2:8) Ministering and praying for unsaved people groups is no small order. In every society, there are areas which shape the thinking of people and the nations and only the fervent prayer of the righteous can change these pressure points. While many of us may not actually go in person, we can all go by being an intercessionary - a prayer missionary!

Today the European birthplace to many of our ancestors is under assault by the anti-Christ, jihadist Prince of Persia; and, secular humanism from the Prince of Greece. France, Germany and England are slowly losing their unique cultures due to the swelling of Muslim immigrants; and, while materially wealthy, each is spiritually impoverished. Remnants of Jewish influence as God’s inheritance throughout history are being erased, as well, while Islam vows to retake the Iberian Peninsula (Spain) and rebuild it to its former glory under Moorish rule.

At the heart of Spain’s roots is the convergence of Jews, Christians and Muslims, many of whom lived harmoniously together for centuries. Today, it is among Europe’s neediest nations for the good news of our Savior, Jesus! It is a strategic nation poised as the gateway to the Mediterranean sea that leads directly to the land of Israel, the focal point for the culmination of history.

Spain, once called the graveyard of missionaries, has an obvious need for an influx of Christian workers to expressly live out the Kingdom of God in cities and towns without such Christian influence. Additionally, training in reconciliation is of paramount importance for Christian leaders. An understanding of history is relevant to bridge the past with present day reality to bring necessary healing and blessing; and, open hearts to Jesus!

Spiritual blindness and strongholds heavily influence the regions of Spain. While, spiritually speaking, dusk is settling in Spain, God is poised and more than eager to reveal His path to freedom and wholeness.

Now is the time for action; now is the time for prayer! Will you join with us in praying for Spain? Will you pray, too, for laborers to be released into Spain’s vineyards? Will you become an intercessionary for Spain?

Blessings,

Shaun &  Martha
