HIS Story in Our Story  
 
Shaun and Martha, though both born in Canada, were raised primarily in southern California - where they met, became childhood sweethearts, eventually married, worked, attended college, traveled, and lived selfishly for themselves!

Seizing the opportunity to travel the world, Shaun entered the U.S. Air Force. After two years stateside, they traveled to Spain, where they came to acknowledge and honor Jesus as Savior and Lord. Within a short time, two missionary couples invested their wisdom, gifts, and lives in the Davy family, forever changing their lives and worldview.

During the next 20+ years, God gave many opportunities to share themselves with others - through service within the Base Chapel and outside Mission groups, as well. Martha pioneered an International Christian School in Spain with Youth With A Mission (YWAM), then applied those same skills in home-schooling both their daughters right through into college. Later, moving to Germany, they organized small retreats and conferences; and ran a YWAM bookstore out of their home. Shaun’s Air Force travels brought him many opportunities to share Jesus, teaching him much about unity and the role of being an ambassador for God. During this season of their lives, a felt call to missions took place. They felt spoiled for the ordinary things of this world!

Returning to California, new ministry opportunities developed in the local church in Youth Ministry, Worship Team, and a Home school Co-op. Martha also began teaching intercession in their home church. Credentialed by their denomination during the last five years in California, they served the District Youth by helping lead and train family teams on short-term Mexico mission trips.

Shaun eventually ended his last few Air Force years training young leaders. His Air Force career culminated in a retirement ceremony, followed by an enlistment in God’s Army. Twenty years service for God and country; and a new adventure began!

Today, the Davys serve under the umbrella of Youth With A Mission (YWAM). Officially joining YWAM, they received training in the Crossroads Discipleship Training School in Hawaii; with further training in the 1st Mobile School of Intercession, Worship, and Spiritual Warfare throughout Spain, and North Africa. In the past decade+, they’ve traveled through many nations, where they often teach FIT for His Service: Ancient Paths to Walk in Balance - a lifestyle of discipleship - strengthening and mobilizing the multi-generational Family of God.

Though presently associated with YWAM’s Community Development Centre, Shaun and Martha live in the southern California area. They serve as Founders and Directors of Barnabas Builders International; and are also national and international seminar coordinators for Family Foundations International.

The Davys teach nationally and internationally in numerous denominational churches and several YWAM schools, including Discipleship Training Schools, Schools of Missions, Schools of Intercession, Worship, and Spiritual Warfare, Intro to Biblical Counseling, and the Family Ministries School. Shaun and Martha, celebrating 30+ years of marriage, travel and minister as a family - to the family of God.
