Dina
My name is SorDina, or Dina. I was born into a Buddhist family in 1984 in a refugee camp on the Thai border. My father was a soldier and my mother was a seller. She sold food in the market. I have two siblings In the year 1989 UNHCR brought us back to Cambodia. Now we are living in Phnom Penh. In 2000 when I went to 10th grade I got bored of studying and I desired to stop. I stayed at home and did nothing. There was a man near my home who gave me ideas about the need of having a skill. If I don’t have any I will have a bad future, he said. So that man introduced me to a church. The church taught Korean for free. I got interested in studying Korean and I wanted to become a translator into Korean. So I went to study Korean language and I also attended the church service though I didn’t understand much of it. The forth time I attended the pastor preached about loving our parents. The message touched my heart and a month later I gave my life to the Lord and committed my past, presence and future to Him. I knew God was with me and later He led me to YLT (Youth Leadership Training). I studied there for 5 months. Now I serve the Lord as a staff in YLT and I know that it is God’s desire for me. My whole family have now also turned to Jesus and are today believers. Thank you God!
