What we do:

Faces of the Nations

God has brought us to this place and has chosen to use us in this training course called DTS.  We have the privilege of working along-side young people from all over the world as the Lord begins changing their hearts and bringing focus to their many ambitions and giftings to glorify to HIS name.

What is DTS?

The Discipleship Training School is a prerequisite for all other courses and is, therefore, the gateway into the seven Colleges and various Centers of the University of the Nations. It is also a prerequisite for serving on staff within Youth With A Mission. Over the past 35 years many thousands of students have been trained through DTS, and most say it is one of the most significant experiences of their lives. Whether you are considering a life of full-time ministry, or you just want to grow closer in your walk with the Lord, the DTS is where you want to be. It builds a rock-solid foundation for life.

The Purpose of the DTS

1. To equip young people -- and those who are young at heart -- to grow in their relationship with God and develop Christ-like character.

2. To awaken in our students a burden for the world's lost and hurting people, showing them how they can be an influence for redemptive change in whatever job or country or sphere of society God may call them to serve in.

3. To give students a solid Biblical foundation for life, including an understanding of the nature and character of God and how to apply his truth and wisdom in everyday life.

4. To challenge Christian men and women to become active in service to their local church, their local community and in world missions and evangelism.

5. To impart an understanding of Youth With A Mission International, its foundational values, calling and opportunities for service.

Discipleship Training School Course Curriculum (major themes):

  1. God's Nature and Character (Encountering God)
  2. God's Intention for Individuals, Peoples and Creation (Seeing all of life from God's perspective)
  3. God's Redemption: Sin and Cross (Recognizing Jesus as Lord)
  4. God's Family: His children and His Church (Becoming more like Jesus)
  5. God's World: His call and His Commission (Doing the works of Jesus)
  6. YWAM: A response to God (Knowing God and Making Him Known)

What is Youth With A Mission (YWAM)?

YOUTH WITH A MISSION is an international movement of Christians working to help make a difference in a needy world. Founded in 1960, it is now one of the largest interdenominational and international Christian ministries, with about 12,000 volunteer staff (and thousands more affiliated workers) based in over 800 locations in over 135 countries.

In addition, tens of thousands more people from scores of nations are involved on a short-term basis each year. Coming from many different backgrounds and working in a wide range of situations, YWAMers are united in their desire to be part of changing people's lives for the better. They have responded to the "Great Commission"--Jesus' command to His disciples to go into all the world and tell the Good News.

They believe the gospel of Jesus is not just about words, but also actions. So they share their faith through many different kinds of practical help--from agricultural training to running medical clinics--as well as telling about the Christian beliefs that inspire their actions.

There are three strands of ministry weaving throughout all that YWAM does:

Evangelism

Mercy

Training
