Water for Life News
This month I (Jeff) have the first of three water seminars that I will be helping to teach during the spring and summer months. From April 24th to May 10th, my Dad and I will be traveling to Fiji to present teaching on making water filters and building rain catchment tanks. Many parts of Fiji have municipal water systems, but in the city of Lautoka, their filtration system has broken down and they are not able to make the necessary repairs. It’s interesting how the Lord arranges things like this—just in January I began talking with a family friend in Fiji about the possibility of bringing the water teachings to their city. She was very interested, and we began to make plans toward this time together. In early March, she wrote to say that the situation had gotten much worse and that the city water was no longer drinkable.
The Fijian people are very gentle, fun-loving people that enjoy time together as family. Our time there will be spent building relationships as well as working on water issues. Our classes will consist mainly of people that attend local Christian churches including both pastors and laymen. Please pray for key individuals in the communities to attend and then for multiplication back into their own villages, the Holy Spirit’s anointing during our training, and God’s grace each day for my family while I’m away. The Fijians are raising funds within their local churches but are needing help covering some of the costs of materials and 2 air tickets which is about $3700 USD. On the Home Front::
Our children are finishing up a great year of schooling. I (Melissa) have continued to give leadership to our campus’ cooperative home school. We are a group of parents committed to discipling/educating our children. This year we are a group of 27 families with 37 children attending grades 1-8 representing 10 different nations. We are thankful for great unity and diversity! In our devotions this week in class we have been learning about the Holy Spirit being our wise helper. And I too am in need of God’s great provision of wisdom through the Holy Spirit (James 1:5) who gives generously!
Our three girls these next weeks will be enjoying Grandma and Grandpa Waddell who are serving on campus with us for 6 weeks. There has been GREAT anticipation of their arrival. If any of you would like to come and volunteer on our campus please contact us...all of your giftings can be put to use!!
