Youth With A Mission Modesto...
...a ministry of YWAM International
We are a creative compassionate community of full-time YWAM workers and volunteers who seek to make friends with, and serve Jesus, the poor, the young, and churches. Understanding that God’s Kingdom is about right relationships (“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and love your neighbor as yourself.”), we seek to make relationship the focal point of all we do.

The Bread Truck
One way we've been involved in the community for four years now is through a community bread share. Each week, on Thurday afternoon, we fill up a large load of donated bread and pastries and deliver them to families in need.
We usually serve between 100 and 150 people off the truck in one afternoon. It's nice to be able to share and be good stewards of a wasted resource. If we did not give this bread away, it would get thrown away. I'm continually surprised at the number of people that utilize this opportunity to help them through their week. The comments we get are humbleing.
People come and stand in line rain or shine and we've promised to be there. This is a good way to get involved. If you would like to ride along with us on a Thursday afternoon, email us and we'll let you know if there's a space available.
Free at last
Colossians 2:13-15
Sharon had heard about Jesus many times. She believed there was a God. She even believed that Jesus lived, died and rose again. But she could not believe that God would ever forgive her for running away from home, leaving her young children motherless. Whenever she even thought about God, she felt condemned.
She still felt that way as she lay dying form cancer. Then two women came to her hospital bed and talked to her about Jesus again. They explained that Jesus’ love for her had motivated him to pay the penalty for her guilt when he died on the cross. They assured her that he was now waiting in heaven to welcome her, if she would only believe.
The voice of condemnation had drowned out that truth so many times before. This time she recognized that Jesus had looked her enemy in the eye, met the demands of the law, canceled her dept and set her free. That day Jesus became her Savior, her life, even as she breathed her last breath.
What negative thoughts, feelings or habits do you experience that are rooted in your past? Ask God to set you free on the basis of what Jesus accomplished on the cross.
