MTO Outreach Team Details

At YWAM Chicago, one of our main objectives is to be a Missions Facilitator for youth groups, college groups, and other interested ministry teams. We accomplish this through something we call Made To Order Outreaches (MTO).

An MTO is specifically designed to to cater to the needs, vision and goals of the participating ministry team. This kind of outreach can last from 1 - 3 weeks and can include evangelism opportunities, service projects, mercy ministries and strategic prayer ventures. 

Some examples might be:

~ Working with the homeless on the streets (We prepare meals and deliver them, taking time to engage them in conversation. We also take groups to a nearby soup kitchen to help serve meals and eat with those who come in off the streets.)

~ Prayer walks and the Prayer table ministry (an ongoing ministry in which we offer to pray with people passing by in a downtown plaza - a very interesting and surprisingly fruitful ministry. A group of 15 people will pray on the streets with an average of 120 - 150 people in an hour and a half.)

~ Open air worship in key areas of the city

~ Drama Evangelism (Summer only - Parks, beaches, plazas) Your team needs to be prepared to do the drama before you arrive. We have a portable sound system available. Mimes and drama to music are great but dialogue is difficult for people to hear.

~ Work days in the projects (painting, cleaning, yard work)

~ Cleaning up neighborhood parks

~ Survey evangelism in ethnic neighborhoods (a tool that helps create opportunities to share your faith.)

~ Friendship evangelism in the Alternative Night district (primarily for adult teams).

Logistical Details: 

Costs: Per person: $300 for per week + $35 Registration Fee (If the outreach is less than a week, it is $45 per day + a $15 Registration fee per person.) This fee includes all of your food, housing and transportation needs while you are with us. It is very important that you send the registration fee per person as soon as possible to secure your dates. (It is fine if more people decide to come later.)
