Establish your foundation on God’s Word

The School of Biblical Studies (SBS) is a nine-month course in which all 66 books of the Bible are studied. An inductive approach is taught, in which students observe what the text says and then let it shape their beliefs.

The Method:

• First, each book is surveyed to discover the big picture, like looking through a wide angle camera lens.  This information is recorded on what is called a horizontal chart.

• Next, smaller units of the book are analyzed in detail, like looking through a microscope lens.  Information is recorded on what we call a vertical chart.

• Finally, truths are mined out to apply to our lives.

Students receive hands-on instruction in the principles of observation, interpretation, and application. SBS staff meet individually with each student to coach in inductive study, process understanding of Scripture, and challenge application and personal growth.

The Schedule

After the initial seminar, lectures are given three mornings a week.  Students should expect to put in 40 hours of self-study a week.  While this course is not for the faint-hearted, it will equip you with a knowledge of the whole Bible, and the ability to train others.

Field Assignment

An optional outreach is offered to SBS students to practice what they have learned and pass on these skills and principles to others.
