Establish Your Foundation on God’s Word

The School of Biblical Studies is a nine-month course in which all 66 books of the Bible are studied. An inductive approach is taught, in which the students observe what the text says and then let it shape their beliefs.

The Method

§         First, each book is surveyed to discover the big picture, like looking through a wide angle lens.  This information is recorded on what we call a horizontal chart.

§         Next, the book is analyzed in detail, section by section, like looking through a magnifying glass.  This information is recorded on what we call a vertical chart.

§         Finally, the truths that have been discovered are applied to our lives.

One-on-One Instruction

In addition to lectures, students receive personal instruction on the principles of observation, interpretation, and application.  SBS staff meet individually with students to coach in inductive study and challenge application and personal growth.

The Schedule

After the initial seminar, lectures are given three mornings a week.  Students should expect to put in 40 hours of self-study each week.  While this course is not for the faint-hearted, it will equip you to understand for yourself what the Bible says and how to apply it to your life.  You will also learn a reproducible method to train others in the Word.

Our school leader has worked with the School of Biblical Studies for 12 years.  From 1995-2002 he directed the SBS program at the University of the Nations in Kona, Hawaii until relocating to Arkansas to pioneer YWAM Ozarks.

Field Assignment

An optional international outreach is offered to practice what your learned, and pass it on to others.

*Costs for outreach will be determined by location and airfare.

Want to do an SBS but can’t afford it?

We understand that nine months of training is an expensive investment for a missionary.  So we have created a tuition structure that can make it more affordable to do a School of Biblical Studies.  However, this is only possible as the number of students grows, so invite those you know who have a passion to know the Word of God and come to Ozark.

24 students and up:    $1600 per quarter

20-23 students:          $1650 per quarter

18-19 students:          $1700 per quarter
