(updated May 2010) From 2007 through 2009 clinic construction made great strides ahead thanks to generous donations from Antioch Community Church in Elon, NC and North Heights Lutheran Church in Arden Hills, MN. We were able to build the roof, finish the second part of the ¨U¨, raise the walls, install some of the windows and build the front entrance stairs and ramp. We currently need approximately $35,000 usd (this amount can change due to fluctuating exchange rates and price increases over time) to complete the construction phase. We still have to purchase and install more windows, doors, tile for floors and walls, bathroom and kitchen fixtures and electrical wiring among other things. In March 2010 the clinic was used for the first time by a medical team from North Heights Lutheran! We hosted a 5 day medical brigade for the community and you can see a 4 minute overview of the brigade here: http://jyksilva.blogspot.com/2010/03/medical-brigade-video.html Once the construction phase is completed we will need to begin the process of outfitting the clinic with all the necessary medical equipment and furnishings.
