Principles for Child and Youth Work

Do you have a heart for children, youth and families. But you don't know how to work with them, set up a program or have no Biblical understanding of working with this group? Then a PCYM is your school.

The purpose of the PCYM school is to serve children, youth and families worldwide by training staff workers and leaders called to reach and disciple children and youth. This course also serves as the foundation for King's Kids staff training, and is a fully accredited course (Colleges of Education and Christian Ministries) with the University of the Nations.

King's Kids Rwanda has set up different programs to meet some of the needs among children, youth and families in Rwanda. The school will work together with the programs that are running from King's Kids Rwanda. This will provide you not only with principles to work with this target group but you will immediately practise these principles!

After a 3 months lecture phase we give you the opportunity to do the 3 month outreach in Rwanda to complete the school. We also offer a 1 or 2 year internship according to the UofN standards, so you can pursue a degree or simply to get more experience in working with children, youth and families.

This PCYM will provide you with a Biblical perspective of children, youth and family. It will give you a broad perspective of child and youth ministries, in a local church context (both with churched and unchurched children), as well as within missions and specifically YWAM/KKI. It will also provide you with opportunities for the personal growth and character development which are essential for any work with young people. And it will equip you with some foundational skills in relating to and working with children, youth and families
