This PCYM will provide you with a Biblical perspective of children, youth and family. It will give you a broad perspective of child and youth ministries, in a local church context (both with churched and unchurched children), as well as within missions and specifically YWAM/KKI. It will also provide you with opportunities for the personal growth and character development which are essential for any work with young people. And it will equip you with some foundational skills in relating to and working with children, youth and families School content include: l Child / human development from pre-birth to teens. l Strategy for working with pre-teens. l Working with teenagers. l Functional / dysfunctional families; family in ministry. l Foundational principles and values of King's Kids. l Leading children / teens in praise and worship. l Motivating young people in intercession l Biblical Christian World view as it relates to children and teens l Basic principles of curriculum / programme development. l Camp and outreach preparation. l Reaching the unchurched; child and youth evangelism. l Children in need of protection – understanding the problem of child abuse, etc. (including the ”Prevention” document as presented during outreach prep and KK values.) To attend the PCYM school you must first complete the Discipleship Training School.
