The Vocational Training School focuses on underprivileged youths from our area Ruberizi, to give them a chance for a better future.

Our school has a two- year program in carpentry, construction and sewing.

Robert is our new staff member from Uganda, who has many years of experience in the VTS in Jinja. He will take on the carpentry- and the construction classes, each with eight students.

Besides teaching the students practical skills, we also teach English, mathematics and life skills. In the morning the VTS starts the lessons with a time of prayer, singing and bible teaching. 

At the end of the training the students receive a certificate, which often is the only official certificate or diploma they ever received.

On the graduation day the local leaders of our district and the relatives of students are invited, which makes it a very important occasion for the students.
